*Coaches are available during PLC's to collaborate and help teachers incorporate 21st century skills into lessons/units. This needs to be scheduled by individual teachers and/or teams.


Calendar & Schedule Changes: Upcoming Collaboration time and training dates:


October 20, 2009 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Toby, Andrea, Kris, Carol Craven
  • 21st Century Learning
    • Break into 2 groups to complete introductory activity for 21st Century Learning
      • Question 1: What are the 2-3 biggest changes in society in the last 25-30 years?
      • Question 2: List 2-3 skills that your students need to address the changes in society you described above.
    • Facilitators are Andrea and Toby (We would really like Caren and Kathy to help facilitate)
    • Meeting Locations: Both Art Rooms - Jason will check for availablility
    • Pam & Jason will create vertically aligned teacher groups

November 3, 2009 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Martha, Alexa, Jeanne, Toby, Andrea, Kris
  • Data Analysis Introduction
    • Break into two groups - Primary and Secondary
    • Martha - Primary Teachers and Andrea - Secondary Teachers
    • Meeting Locations: Art Room (mobile lab/airport) and Mac Lab
    • Carol Collier will schedule Mac and Mobile lab
  • Teachers need to bring student data with them - Jason sent out email to teachers.
  • After introduction, teachers will have time to begin work data entry in Numbers
  • Andrea spoke with Lucas last week. He stated that iWork 09 will be installed on all the machines that teachers will be using that day.

November 4, 2009 from 8:00 - 4:00 p.m. Martha, Alexa, Toby, Jeanne, Andrea, Kris Data Analysis by Grade Level
  • Each Grade level will have one hour and 20 minutes to work with coaches to organize and interpret student data
  • Goal 1 - To organize student data to inform classroom instruction.
  • Goal 2 - Teachers will leave with data and intervention plan for students performing above and below expected.
  • Carol Collier will schedule Mac and Mobile lab

Skill Overview: Changes to student image & saving to server

  • Monthly Skill Overview to address staff tech needs
  • 30 - 45 minutes during Tech Team Meeting
  • Tech Team members can support skills and share back to grade level teams

Tech Cafe'

  • Tutorials and teacher resources will be housed on Barrington Tech Team wiki
  • Tech Cafe' after school to work on basic skills: projectors, interactive websites, wikis, Discovery Streaming, etc.
